"The Man, the actor - Aamir Khan"
1987 - I was working in Taj Residency, Visakhapatnam when the world was a better place without traces of too much technology driving us crazy, or too much of the societal influences raving us mad. This was a time when things were much sombre, much more easy to dealt with, far more easier than the present day's situational crisis of having to deal with simple day-to-day problems like even getting to have your newspaper delivered to you everyday uninterrupted.
Now, this was the same time when some really interesting things happened around our life, and one of them was meaningful cinema being released. A movie by name, "Qayamat se Qayamat tak", was released and I was on the way to office in a city bus. I noticed an advertisement near the jail road, where one poster showing a youngster with stiff black clothes was seen with a guitar and looking up into the sky. This poster in the later months kept changing but from the same movie. Now I happened to have seen this movie during it's 20th week in Vizag and even then it was so packed to the brim. After watching this movie, I only thought one thing. A very serious star has arrived onto the Bollywood scene and is going to run a very long race. After 23 years and scores of wonderfully scripted movies this young man now all of 45 is not just a celebrity but also a very simple, sincere, well-kempt, well-defined, perfection-obsessed and too cool to even imagine, as a star or even a ordinary human. He had nurtured himself to an altar where it takes lot of guts and grit to reach. He has treaded along all paths good, bad and ugly but never once carried even a remote feeling of remorse for having taken up a certain role or a character. He had been the most successful in terms of both commercial aspects and also the glamorous one as well. He had redefined the skills of acting onto a completely different path and he invented a new zone for himself where noone can ever find their way in simple means.
He had truly left some real strong footprints in terms of a job being done, a job being well-done in fact and also in building a character for the last 2 decades. He had very little time for fame and money what bothered to him was acting and acting till the movie hits the screens, and then he disappears - strange. Never had he graced an occassion where he had the honor of winning numerous awards including the Filmfare and the Prestigious National Awards over the last 2 decades - for his indomitable work for cinema. He had been lauded by everyone from both within the industry and outside as well. This speaks about his character and also of his quality of work.
Now, he had donned a new cap of having to do something really miraculous to survive the grapewine where only sour grapes keep lambasting among themselves all these years. Well, keeping Aamir in mind this does not bother me and his various fans but "Aamirbhai, be good and be far from Controversies like before".
Good Luck to you ahead!!! This will continue in another 2 weeks.
